Times Fantasy Football - Scoring points

SCORING POINTS

Your players will score points for your team based on their performance for their real life clubs. Eligible points-scoring fixtures are Eligible Fixtures in the English Premier and Scottish Premier Leagues, Champions League and UEFA Cup. Eligible fixtures start on Saturday 16th August 2008 with the last eligible fixtures on Wednesday 27th May 2009.

All Players:

Player in starting line up: +3 points
Substitute appearance: +1 point
Goal scored: + 6 points
Assist: + 2 points
Yellow card: -3 points
Red card (2 yellows scores one red): -6 points
Own goal: -6 points
Missed penalty: -4 points

Defenders & Goalkeepers:

Clean sheet (played full match): +6 points
Clean sheet (played part match): +3 points
Goal conceded: -2 points
Penalty save (goalkeepers only): +4 points

Captains:

Awarded double points. Where a captain scores negative points, these will be halved and in the event that this leads to half point calculations, these will be rounded down in the Entrant's favour e.g. if the captain scores –5 points, this will be halved to –2.5 which will be rounded down to –2.

Fixtures abandoned will not count for the purposes of scoring in the Game and only eligible fixtures in the English Premier League, Scottish Premier League, Champions League (excluding qualifying rounds) and UEFA Cup will score points in the Game. Where eligible fixtures include extra time, this will count in the Game for the purpose of scoring but penalty shoot-outs will not. Assists will be assessed and awarded by the games judging panel and the Promoter will not enter into any correspondence about such decisions. Scores will be updated daily on the Game site at www.timesonline.co.uk/fantasyfootball.
