To the casual observer Luton Town Football Club’s stadium, Kenilworth Road, looks like hundreds of other grounds across the world. Football pitch? Check. Floodlights? Check. Seating? Check.

The hilarity begins when you take a look at the away supporters’ end of the ground: The Oak Stand. Presumably due to unforeseen circumstances the entire stand backs onto a row of terraced houses on Oak Road, creating a problem when it comes to the visiting fans actually entering the ground itself and finding their seats.

The solution?

Well, the solution is plain to see in the above picture. To enter the ground, supporters bizarrely walk through an entrance which penetrates the row of houses which had the cheek to box the stadium in. After passing through, fans then climb a set of stairs, walk over the houses’ rear gardens and enter the stand. It’s an incredible sight to behold, and yes, people actually live in the rooms above those gates.
